Driver Information Systems
Your browser does not support the video tag.

So you are about to head home after a long day of work, and you think that your favorite roadway may be relatively free of traffic congestion. Well, what if you are wrong, and it takes twice as long to get home than on the alternate route? There is no need to gamble. The Tallahassee Driver Information System is a feature of our state-of-the-art Tallahassee Advanced Traffic Management System (TATMS).

Main Features

Traffic Camera over I-10

Driver Information System (opens in a new window)
Find out real time information about congested streets, traffic accidents and road closures affecting Tallahassee traffic. Also includes a technical map of traffic lights and intersection traffic, with peak hour statistics (for the more advanced researcher.)

Camera List
This is a full text listing of each camera. Click this link if you know what intersection you want to view, and do not need to see the visual representation on a map.

Live Streaming Traffic Cameras in the City
View current traffic through one of our 16 live traffic cameras placed throughout the city.

Know Your Traffic Rules

Reporting a Traffic Crash

The driver of a vehicle involved in any traffic crash that:

  • Results in injury to or death of any persons.
  • Involves an intoxicated driver.
  • Involves a "hit and run" driver.

shall immediately, by the quickest means of communication, give notice of the crash to a local law enforcement department.

If the accident does not meet the above listed criteria, you can report the crash online or you may download the report and complete for insurance purposes. If you need the assistance of a police officer, please call 606-5800 if it is not an emergency and 911 if it is an emergency.

To report a traffic crash online or to download the report, please use the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' Online Crash Report application.

Bike Box

Bike Box - Get Behind It!

Bike Box locations include Call Street at Stadium Drive and Call Street at both Bronough and Macomb Streets.

Take a look at our pamphlet (PDF) for more information on bike boxes.

The goal of a Bike Box is to create a safe location for cyclists on the road at intersections in an effort to prevent bike and car collisions. The life-saving benefits of awareness and safety for cyclists in our community is the driving force behind this project.  Both motorists and cyclists need to be aware of one another and share the road in a safe, responsible manner."

The Bike Box is highly visible when installed. It consists of a green area with a white bicycle symbol inside placed between the white stop bar and the pedestrian crosswalk. Additionally, a portion of the existing bike lane leading up to the intersection is painted green with white bicycle symbols to indicate to motorists they are approaching an intersection with a Bike Box.

Statistical data from progressive, cycling friendly communities, like Portland, Oregon, and Austin, Texas, show that bike boxes reduce the number of collisions between motorists turning right and cyclists going straight or turning right, better known as "right hook" collisions.

The Bike Box concept was introduced and supported by the cycling community during community meetings regarding Moving Tallahassee: Cars Optional plan, which was discussed with the community during the past year. The city plans to work with the cycling community to potentially identify other intersections for future locations of bike boxes.

Bike boxes are easy to use for both cyclists and motorists. You can learn how quickly and easily by watching the City's How Do I? video:
