Theft Suspect Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit
February 21, 2025
At approximately 4:44 a.m. on Feb. 21, TPD responded to the 2700 block of West Tennessee Street regarding a vehicle theft. By 5:23 a.m., the stolen vehicle was spotted near West Gaines Street and Lake Bradford Road. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled.
An uninvolved patrol officer was traveling west on FAMU Way when the suspect intentionally struck the officer's patrol car and continued to flee. This prompted a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit continued southbound on Lake Bradford Road to Springhill Road, then north on Capital Circle. In an effort to slow the vehicle down, a Leon County Sheriff's Office Deputy deployed spike strips near Capital Circle and Blair Stone Road. TPD then used the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle near the 2000 block of Capital Circle Southeast.
The driver, Tiffany Roberts, was arrested and charged with Grand Theft of an Automobile, Fleeing and Eluding and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
Thankfully no one was injured during this incident. TPD extends its gratitude to the Leon County Sheriff's Office for their assistance.
Arrestee: Tiffany Roberts, 35-year-old female
Charges: Grand Theft of an Automobile, Fleeing and Eluding, Battery on Law Enforcement Officer
